Come into the store to meet our friendly staff, check out our products, and receive a custom shoe fitting.
We will take customers through a full gait analysis, discuss their fitness goals and injuries, and make recommendations of shoes based on their review of the customer's needs. Selecting a shoe is based solely on your individual gait cycle and foot type so it is important that you receive expert advice on which model will help you avoid injury and is best for your fitness level. Remember, what works best for your friend may not work for you and color/style are secondary to the way the shoe fits your foot. No appointment is necessary!
Our mission is to promote healthy activity among athletes of all ages and experience levels. Our trained staff of experienced runners and walkers will help you find the best shoes, accessories, and technical apparel for you. We would like to be the premier specialty running and walking store in Western and Central Pennsylvania.
The Story of Gingerbread Man Running Company started in the far away school district of Seneca Valley where two runners met. During their time at Seneca Valley they were introduced to the world of running. While running cross country and track for Seneca Valley, their friendship grew over the years and many runs together.
Chris, the older of the two runners, went on to run for Slippery Rock University. While at Slippery Rock he spent his time figuring out how to become more involved in the running community. He found his way to Up N Running, and he become very involved in the running community in the Western Pennsylvania area. After receiving his degree from SRU he wanted to go on a quest to broaden his knowledge in the running specialty, and that lead him to Washington D.C.
Matt went on to run for Indiana University of Pennsylvania. During his time at IUP he discovered a great running community in the small western Pennsylvania town. With this in the back of his mind, he knew he had to do something to give back to the community. During the PSAC outdoor track meet Matt ran into Chris and the idea to open up a running specialty store was put into place.
With the two of them working together on opening a store, they knew they wanted to put it in a great running community. They also knew they needed some help from good friends too. So with the perfect location, and a great group of people to help out, they knew something special was about to happen.
